San Francisco, May 21 (IANS) Calling for stricter cryptocurrency rules, the US Treasury Department has said that any cryptocurrency transfer worth $10,000 or more has to be reported to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

In a worrying repetition of last year’s Covid-19 led economic distress, bounce rates for recurring transactions were elevated in April.
Data captured by the National Payments Corporation of India from its National Automated Clearing House (NACH) platform, too reveal that the number of unsuccessful auto debit requests in the month of April had once again begun to climb up after remaining low in March.
According to NPCI’s data, of the total of 8.54 crore auto debit transactions on the NACH platform in April, 5.63 crore were successful while 2.9 crore were returned. This reflects a return or bounce rate of 34.05 per cent in April compared to 32.76 per cent in March. ....

SSS reports Q1 2021 online funeral claim transactions up by 13.6%

THE Social Security System (SSS) recorded 11,088 online transactions for funeral benefit claims in the first quarter of 2021, up by 13.6 percent from 9,762 transactions recorded in the second semester of last year.
SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Aurora C. Ignacio attributed the significant increase to the implementation of mandatory online transactions and checkless disbursements in 2020.
“In line with our campaign ExpreSSS fast, simple, and easy transactions with SSS we committed to expanding our online services with the inclusion of funeral benefit applications last July 2020, as part of the available e-services under the My.SSS portal. Member-claimants may now receive their benefits through checkless disbursements through the Unified Multipurpose Identification (Umid) card enrolled as ATM. If without Umid card enrolled as ATM, the funeral benefit may be credited to Philippine Electronic Fund Transfer & Syst ....

The New York Giants have bolstered their running back depth by signing veteran Corey Clement, one of five tryout players who participated in the team s rookie minicamp this weekend.
Clement was originally an undrafted free agent signed by the Philadlephia Eagles in 2017, but he went on to have a success story with the Giants NFC East rivals.
He recorded the second-most all-purpose yards (1,367) by an undrafted free agent in his first three seasons as an Eagle since the 1970 merger. Clement was also one of the statistical stars of Super Bowl LII, catching a team-high 100 receiving yards in that win over the New England Patriots. ....
